OMB sued for refusing to correct its exemption of USPTO’s “bootleg” Information Collections

You may recall our prior post on the OMB’s obscure exemption of a $3 billion per year “bootleg” Information Collection.  Now, the American Association for Equitable Treatment and inventor Gilbert Hyatt filed a complaint against OMB for its denial of a petition under 44 U. S.C. § 3517(b).  The petition filed in 2013 by Hyatt asked the OMB to determine that collections of information contained in USPTO Rules 37 C.F.R. 1.111, 1.115, and 1.116 are subject to the PRA but have not been approved by OMB and assigned valid OMB Control Numbers, as the PRA requires.
